19th -20th Aug 1900 only cricket match to be played at Olympics, Paris, France .Great Britain won the Olympic cricket tournament. The match was not awarded the first class cricket status as it was two days match with 12 side per team. It was the only international cricket match played that year .The two day match was hosted at Exhibition ground , Vincennes. The playing conditions were twelve men a side and six ball over. Earlier Netherlands and Belgium were also part of the fixtures but they withdraw after losing co-host demand.
Great Britain was represented by the Devon County Wanderers Club formed by William Donne for the tour of Isle of Wight . France team comprised of players of French Athletic Club Union (All Paris) and Englishmen living in France and playing for The Albion Cricket Club (Champions of France) or for Standard Athletic Club.
Result Great Britain won by 158 runs with five minutes to spare.
Cricket was supposed to be the part of first modern Olympics , 1896 Athens but was withdrawn due to fewer team entries. Since 1900 Paris game , cricket was never a part of Olympics , 1904 also it was cancelled due to lack of entries.
