On match number 29, between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 20 runs in match 29 of the tournament. CSK gained two much important points with this win. They now moved to the sixth position in the points table.
CSK skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Both the sides played an extra spinner in this game, keeping the pitch conditions in mind. CSK brought Piyush Chawla into the playing XI in the place of N Jagadeesan , on the other hand, SRH replaced Abhishek Sharma with Shahbaz Nadeem.
Batting first, CSK surprised all after making a big move to open with Sam Curran alongside Faf du Plessis. Curran impressed with his knock of 31 runs off 21 balls, but Faf Du Plessis got out for a golden duck. After them, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu played steady knocks of 42 and 41 runs respectively.
With brilliant finishing touches from MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, CSK posted a decent total of 167-6 after their 20 overs. For SRH, Sandeep Sharma emerged as the pick of the bowlers with his terrific spell of 4-0-19-2. Spinners Rashid Khan and Nadeem also bowled tight overs in the middle.
In reply to that, SRH only managed to score 148 for 8.Warner fell early off Sam Curran. DJ Bravo managed to run out Manish Bairstow got bowled by Jadeja. Bairstow and Kane Williamson were looking good together but Bairstow got bowled of Ravinder Jadeja . Garg came in and after scoring few Garg tried to hit off Karn Sharma but it landed straight
into Jadeja’s Hand. vijay Shankar also got out in a few overs. Kane Williamson on the other hand continued to steady the innings and is the only batsman of the both side who managed to cross 50 runs.He is next man to get out in the 17th over.It gave CSK the momentum. Rashid Khan though hit one four and a six , but got out in the last ball of 18th over which ended the last hope of sunrisers. In the end of 20 over, SRH ended their innings with 20 runs short and CSK picking up two vital points on board.
