Sri Lanka won the Colombo test by solitary one wicket against Proteas. This 352 runs chase was a record in Asia at that time. Mahela Jayawardene held the Lanka’s inns intact with a fluent 123 runs in the last innings. Earlier in the chase, Sri Lanka piled 115 runs off 26 overs in the afternoon session to go to tea on the fourth day at 163-3.
