  • 1977 Geoff Boycott and Alan Knott century put on record 215 runs for the sixth wicket. They equaled Hutton and Hardstaff 1938 record of highest sixth-wicket stand by English pair in Ashes. Boycott and Knott partnership was a counter-attacking as England were tottering at 82/5 at one stage. The stand was crucial for first inns lead, Boycott continued his form in second inns to secure seven wickets win for the home team. England were 2-0 up in the series with two more tests to go, they regained the Ashes 3-0.
