The 21st match of Dream11 IPL took place between Kolkata knight riders and Chennai super kings. Kkr who had incur a loss against the Capitals were looking to score in the points table and on the other hand CSK came from a convincing victory by 10 wkts against KXIP.
In the match, KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik won the toss and elected to bat first.
Unlike other days, it was Rahul Tripathi who opened the batting with Subhman Gill and not Sunil Narine.
With this new opening combination of Rahul Tripath KKR got off to a good start. The duo put on 37 runs before Shardul Thakur sent back Gill. Left hander Nitish Rana came to bat but the Dhoni led Csk didn’t let the Kkr southpaw settle. Karn Sharma who was the new inclusion in the CSK lineup replacing Piyush Chawla picked two wickets – one of Rana and the other being Sunil Narine who came to bat second down. Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell failed with the bat but it was young man Rahul Tripathi who stayed long to score a brilliant 81 of 51 deliveries. The late flourish from Pat Cummins and Dinesh Karthik made sure that KKR put a competitive total on the board. But one had to believe that the Csk bowler’s were magnificent in the competition and kept taking regular wickets.
Coming to bat , Faf and Watto looked very solid in the beginning. As both of them were looking in good touch, Shivam Mavi came in and just gave the crucial breakthrough to kkr as inform Faf edges one to wicketkeeper Dk.
Rayudu and Watto were looking good , Dk on the other hand tried to bring on all his variations in the bowling unit. Watson pulled up a brilliant half century but just prior to this , it was RAYUDU who still struggled to get back to form coming forth an injury. As KKR made a comeback , skipper Ms Dhoni and Sam Curran tried to stand against them. But not for long , as Dhoni gets cleaned up by mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty. Sooner , Sam Curran also gets going after hitting few sixes . 39 runs required from 21 balls and it was Kedar jadav who was batting alongside Ravindra Jadeja. But lack of proper intent from Kedar let the match wash away in their oppositions favour. Jaddu finished the last over with a couple of boundaries but not enough to laceup Csk into the top 4 of the points table.
