Winning the toss newly elected skipper Eoin Morgan opted to bat first. They lost Rahul Tripathi as Sky (Suryakumar Yadav) took a screamer of Trent Boult. Nitish Rana too fled making few runs.
At the end of the powerplay, kkr was 33 runs and 2 wickets down.
