  • 2018 England Cricket became the first team to play 1000 test matches. Before the 1000th match, 686 players represented England in these 999 tests. The first match was against the Australian Men’s Cricket Team 15–19 March in 1877. In 999 games 357 wins 297 loss,458993 runs scored,856 hundred, highest individual score 364,15227 wickets,669 five wickets haul,19-90 best bowling figure.
  • 1924 The Nelson Mandela of world cricket Sir Frank Worrell was born.
  • 1910 The man who bowled India s first-ever ball in Test cricket and Amar Singh’s partner in crime Mohammad Nissar was born. He along with Amar Singh formed the first fast bowling pair of Indian Cricket Team.

  • 1961 England in quest for 256 were cruising at 150/1 with Subba Row and Ted Dexter in full flow. The next few overs Benaud had both Row ,Dexter, Peter May, Brian Close, and keeper Murray and reduced England to 171/6. Australia won the match 4th Ashes by 54 runs to regain the title.

  • 1969 Graham Thorpe who scored the then third-fastest double ton of 231 balls was born in Surrey. He was the first Englishman to score a century on debut while batting at number seven or below. The first man to play exactly 100 tests in the career a record equaled compatriot (although South Africa born), Andrew Strauss. No Englishman has scored as many runs and century as Surrey batsman in his era (1993-2005).
