In the grand finale of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League both the world cup wining captain MS Dhoni and Eoin Morgan will lock horns with each other at Dubai International Stadium.
The three – time IPL champions CSK will be playing their 9th finale and have been consistent throughout the tournament. They were the first team to enter in playoffs. Later, they beat Delhi Capitals in qualifier 1 and sealed the spot in finals. For CSK, Ruturaj is the most consistent and run scorer player. Faf du Plessis played some decent innings. Robin Uthapa found his form back in the last match, he scored 63 off 44 balls. Dhoni has not scored heavily in this year but as a captain he had huge impact.
“purely from the captaincy point of view who can handle the pressure best, probably has to be dhoni,” said Gautam Gambhir.
On the other hand, Kolkata made a fantastic comeback. They turned table by securing fourth and final spot of the elite competition. KKR first defeated Virat’s RCB in eliminator and later Delhi Capitals in qualifier 2 at Sharjah. Varun Chakarvarthy , Shakib Al Hassan and Sunil Narine played an important role . It will be interesting to see how CSK batter will tackle them. Venkatesh Iyer impressed everyone whereas Gill’s also in good touch.
Dhoni led team registered 2 wickets win over KKR in the last met at Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Chennai holds the edge in head to head clashes.
