Sydney : India vs Austalia  third test and team India earned a historic draw . One of the best in Test history that will rank as high as Melbourne Boxing Day test win.

  Superb performance from Indian batsmen Pant and Puajara with  counter-attack followed by Vihari-Ashwin blockathon. Aussie bowlers tried their best, but didn’t get much assistance from a fifth  day pitch, a few dropped chances didn’t help either.

“It was a pity that I couldn’t do well in the field. We showed some positive signs this Test and showed how good we were. I thought today was a whole-hearted effort from the boys.” Said Tim Paine .

India resumed  day at 98/2  needing further 309 as Austalia set huge 407 to win.  Injury wracked India gave tough fight and batted all day . Explosive innings from RishabhPant and determined 77 from Pujara  turned the tables . Vihari with hamstring injury faced 161 balls whereas Ashwin with broken ribs  made unbeaten 39 .  This is the first time since 1979 India batted so many overs .

Tough time for India for upcoming Gabba Test as Shami , Umesh Yadav and KL Rahul already ruled out due to injuries on the other hand  all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Vihari are under observation.
