Lankan Lions charged their highest total in South Africa that is 396 all out in the first innings .Dasun Shanaka hit his maiden test half Century and added 56 runs before South Africa wrapped up the tail . Everything was going in favor of Sri Lanka but all of sudden injuries turned the tables!

Sri Lanka lost their two bowlers due to injury. De Silva who scored impressive 79 got hurt  in lthe middle of his inings and now been ruled out of  of the two series. While bowling Rajitha pulled up and had to leave field, his participation in the rest of the Test os yet to determined . This cost the Lankan bowling line up .

South Africa racked up 317/4 . Elgar (95) and Markram (68)  took all pressure and played amazingly. They transferred the pressure back to the tourist in just couple of hours with 141  under 29 overs.  After them its Faf Du Plesiss and Bavuma unbeaten partnership who ensured to maintain the same strong streak. Debutant South Africa seamer Lutho Sipamla claimed three wicktes and finished with 4/76 .

” He could have gone into shell but the whole ( South Africa ) environment tells you you need to set up and he showed character” Dean Elgar praises Sipamla after match press conference.
