Mount Maungani : New Zealand finished with a total of 431 with the slowest scoring rate of 2.78 in the last 10 years at a home test . Though the conditions were tough and wasn’t easy to post a sizable total on board.

“ That was just the nature of the conditions and it’s what you expect when you get put into bat – you expect the wicket to offer a bit for the bowlers and it did . It was nice that we had a few things go our way and our guts applied themselves really well against a Pakistan attack that bowled really beautiful and were disciplined and were perhaps a bit unlucky”  said Kane Williamson who led the team with determination and scored 129 which helped Kiwis to be on table top . Pakistan is at 30 for one at stumps . Abud Ali  scored  unbeaten 19 with Mohammad Abbas who’s account is not opened yet . Shan Masood was caught by Wicketkeeper BJ Watling  and dismissed for 10 . It will all depend on Pakistan play with the bat . New Zealand still have a cushion of 401 runs with them as they would look to bowl fearlessly putting pressure on the opposition.
