The Inaugural Champions of the IPL are back with some strong contention in their lineup. It’s been a long time we have seen Rajasthan Royals in the playoffs. But this year, they have got a variety of young and experienced personalities who could win the 2nd title for the royals. Jaydev Unadkat has been named as the stand-in captain for Steve smith and he shall try to deliver with the same sharpness as he did for Saurashtra in the Ranji trophy. Let’s just have a gaze on the lineup of the Hallabol’s

Strengths

  • Strongest foreign contingent.
  • Young emerging prodigy Kartik Tyagi and Akash Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Weakness-

  • Too much dependency on a few players
  • Lack of experienced Indian players
  • No finger spinners

Player analysis-

Yashasvi Jaiswal – From selling phuchka’s to being a part of the U-19 World cup final, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s journey was revolutionized. In this IPL, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for whooping 2.4 Cr. He should be a very useful asset to the team and could be seen opening the lineup alongside Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler – A tremendous T20 batsman who can turn the tables at any moment of the game. He can open as well as finish the games for his team. Gives a lot of flexibility with the gloves too.

Robin Uthappa- He was released by KKR this year after few poor sessions but RR did a fantastic job by picking him up. The last time IPL was played in UAE, Robin won the orange cap for KKR. He can open as well as play the anchors role in the middle order.

Sanju Samson – He has been a part of the Rajasthan Royals since along eternity. He has played a lot of mature innings for Rajasthan royals in the past and shall be looking to do more with the bat this year.

Steve Smith – He did a wonderful job as a skipper for Rising Pune Supergiants back in 2017. This time again he’s the captain of RR and he shall be looking to earn the trophy for his team. And there arises no questions on his batting skills.

Ben stokes- A prolific all-rounder who can be handy with the ball as well as the bat. A perfect example of a three-dimensional cricketer.
There were speculations on his unavailability in this year’s IPL. If that happens it would be a huge blow for them.

Riyan Parag – A very talented batsman from Assam who has the ability to play match-winning knocks for his team. He has big shots in his book which shall be very effective down the order.

Mahipal Lomror – He could be used as a backup all-rounder at times. He has good records with the ball and bat in domestic cricket.

Rahul Tewatia – A very useful asset to the team who can play quickfire innings at the end and also bowl 3-4 overs wrist spin.

Shreyas Gopal- we have seen him a lot of times bowling in the powerplays and he is too good in it. He hits proper areas and gets the bowl to skid. He can also bat lower down the order so that’s a bonus coming in for RR.

David Miller – After spending 9 years in KXIP, David Miller finally got a call from Rajasthan royals after the former released them. The stalwart has a great record as a finisher, finishing a lot of games for the KingsXI which includes the 38 ball century against RCB.

Jaydev Unadkat – He would be seen as the stand-in skipper for Steve Smith if he is unavailable. Jaydev is a very decent left-arm bowler. He has immense records in domestic cricket and would love to contribute for his IPL franchise too.

Andrew Tye – A very good death over bowler. Won the purple cap for Kings XI Punjab in 2018. He has got the knuckle ball which could work hand in hand in the slow pitches of UAE.

Tom Curran – This English bowler made his IPL debut for KZKR but failed to impress. He has another chance here to deliver with the ball for RR and let’s hope he converts into wickets.

Varun Aaron – This south Indian speedster has also represented team India. He has the pace that is needed but lacks variation and consistency.

Kartik Tyagi- It would be an amazing thing to watch Kartik Tyagi bowl
In IPL. It’s a known fact to all that Kartik Tyagi is a brilliant bowler he performed exceptionally well in the Under-19 world cups.

Akash Singh – Another U-19 prodigy who performed very well in U-19’s world cup this year. He is a left-handed bowler. It would be exciting to look at how all of these youngsters perform.

Jofra Archer – We all know how good a bowler he is. He is exceptionally well and would be the captains choice to deliver in tough situations.

Shashank Singh – He has good domestic records as a spin bowler. He can be used when necessary.

Mayank Markande – Rajasthan royals traded Mayank from MI. He could be the leading spinner for Rajasthan on few games.

Anuj Rawat – A very good wicketkeeper who can also loft balls out of parks when required. Gives depth to the batting order.

Manan Vohra – It’s been a long we have seen big innings from this top-order batsman. But with the change in the franchise can we see some change in scores for Manan, Let’s hope for the best.

Oshane Thomas – Rajasthan royals have got a lot of overseas pace options. It could be a huge competition for Oshane Thomas to get into the act and deliver in matches.
